Publisher's Synopsis
In view of international military operations with consequences that are often extremely counterproductive, there has recently been a call from science, churches and society for an international police force to replace the deployment of national armies. The International Police Section has been formed in the Security Rethink initiative to make concrete recommendations to governments. In several retreats and an academy conference, the experiences of police forces in international missions as well as peace experts and peace studies were presented and studied. This volume is intended to document the exchange and contains a stimulating interim status with the resulting paper "Zielperspektive Internationale Polizei und Realisierungsaspekte" (Goal Perspective International Police and Implementation Aspects).
