Astronomy is divided into two: naked eye astronomy and telescope astronomy. This book is purely for the amateur, naked eye astronomer and includes maps designed to be used by torchlight when moon and planet watching at night. The month-by-month charts show the stars and planets that can be seen in northern latitudes every month. There is a commentary for each month, telling when each planet is visible, exactly when and in which portion of the sky, with the phases of the moon included. The maps provides a picture of the night sky and a special section reviews the year in space.
