During her junior and senior years of high school, Abbey Christianson was raped and beaten by a nun. After two unsuccessful suicide attempts, Abbey relinquishes herself to the world of mental health. She must truly begin to dig into the depths of the abuse. To no avail, she confronts The Sisters of Divinity, of which her rapist is a member. Their lack of compassion leads Abbey to her third suicide attempt.
Through therapy, Dr. Katherine Nolan must bring her client through the stranglehold of hidden memories. The shadow of death is Abbey’s constant companion, and through therapy, she must take those first steps to survive. Abbey clings desperately to those she loves and tries to live one day at a time. She must find a way to leave the darkness of death behind and enter into the light of life.
