Publisher's Synopsis
The Good Old Hockey Game is the 12th book of poetry and stories by Canada's foremost poet Birdland Slim. The book details the relationship between the author and the local WHL team the Regina Pats. The book begins early in the new century and chronicles this relationship up the present summer of 2023 and the NHL draft. The writer looks at experiences outside the normal realm of hockey statistics, won/loss and championships, but instead looks at the experiences of going to games with family and friends, local victories and losses and experiences in local outdoor rinks. Birdland Slim grew up in a hockey culture and wanted to share some of the experiences he knew and saw during his life.
