Silent for hundreds of years, the crystal are now waking... The Land of Malerian was nearly destroyed by a dark dragon, Vlagh. If it were not for the extraordinary sacrifices of six powerful mages, Vlagh would have succeeded in decimating Malerian. But in spite of their efforts, it had not been enough. With their powers drained they reached out to the only source powerful enough to help them. In doing so, they gave up their lives for the power to at least banish the dragon from their world. She had never dreamed that carrying the fabled crystal would cost her father his life, or cause the destruction of her home.
