"I went in a simple criminal-" "and came out a terrorist," Michelle finished his sentence. We are all meant to be broken and all have a breaking point. The only thing keeping us pleasing society is the thin line between sanity and insanity; that is a line easily crossed. "The heroes history remembers most are the tragic ones." The call then disconnected. Here we are in a tragic world with no room for the type of heroes that cover our media feed and the front pages of newspapers. "I am not crazy!" Dirks said, trying to hold himself together. "You are right," the Fracture said leaning up as far as he could against his restraints; his face now only inches from Dirks. "You're psychotic." That is the idea is it not? To put everyone on the same level and prove we are all destined to collapse, just as society is. A man was hung up over the front porch. His ribs were cut by the spine and broken, giving him the appearance of grotesque, bloody wings, and his lungs were pulled out though the wounds. Is this what we have to become? Violent animals tearing off each other's flesh, fighting for the right to survive. Is this what society has come to? Or are we missing the bigger picture? Just playing a game? Because is life not just a game, where we all wage wars to move out pawns and save our kings from the enviable shattering that comes about from the pressure, standards, and images of the world? Then again we all might be mentally unstable all ready and our breaking is only a matter of time.
