Publisher's Synopsis
A few words to my readers, which makes me smile since I am not known to be a man of a few words.
My favorite poet Rengetsu, a Japanese Buddhist nun, tells me our words as well as our days pile up like leaves in the corner of our lives. On this bright sunny morning I sit quietly in my enchanted grove in Upstate New York and decide to put words to paper about my journey.
What follows are recollections of my early life and the surprising metamorphosis that would come to make me a screen writer and a producer in Hollywood.
Who were my people, heroes and loves? How did they influence and shape me? I choose to offer up these honest and candid recollections for you. To etch these leaves of life as it were with the written word; as these leaves of my life will soon enough drift off into the vastness of time.
Share my journey with me; humble beginnings of my childhood in the 1940's, Yale in the early 1950's and then in NYC of the late 1950's to early 1960's. Perhaps my words will entertain, enlighten and even inspire. Why not? I love my life. This I leave to you the reader. Let the journey begin.
