That a speech like the one alluded to, exposing so fully the evils of slavery in all their hideousness, could have been delivered without producing a strong feeling in the minds of all, who have either heard or have read it, it would be taxing our credulity too heavily to believe; and if we take into consideration, the fact of all Mr. Thorpe's state ments being substantially correct, and that he has merely delineated.
