Eight months of the year, however, she passes at her husband's country seat; here she is the kind benefactress of the poor and the wise and prudent manager of her household. She keeps up an extensive circle of visiting acquaintance; but, as her habits are very active, she finds time for many other pursuits, from the cultivation of her mind to that of her ?ower garden, fiom playing chess and Singing duets with her husband to directing the studies and sharing the pastimes of her children. She has a son, nineteen years of age, who is already distinguished by his talent and excellence, and two daughters, of fifteen and sixteen, who have not yet come out. When they do so it is predicted that they will meet with excellent opportunities of marrying. Girls brought up under the inspection Of such a mother may be safely trusted to make admirable wives.
