Publisher's Synopsis
This collection of 28 short stories focuses on the effect of World War One upon families living in Somerset, England. They are derived mainly from the Yeovil area. It shows how the community treated the wives and families of the men and how the war affected them. The stories also show how the men lived whilst at war and what happened. Based upon actual events from history, the subjects of each tale were living at the time.
