Publisher's Synopsis
"THE Aging Well' workbook, powered by BrainFlex Wellness Club, is an interactive workbook packed with brain stimulating activities that go beyond typical brain games. The monthly workbooks are designed for seniors who are committed to aging well, which requires a focus on our over all well-being. This includes the brain, body, mind, spirit, emotions, and our relationships. According to research, engaging in activities that contribute to the health of these areas is the very best way for seniors to be proactive against age related diseases, including Alzheimer's. The concepts in "THE Aging Well" workbook will give seniors the best chance to stay healthy and maintain their independence. The interactive workbook is designed to be completed in one month, (3 lessons each week). However, individuals can also work at their own pace. Much of the work will give the average senior a challenging brain workout, but we've also included worksheets that may feel more like a 'review'. Seniors facing the challenges of dementia will find this workbook especially helpful, although they may need assistance with verbal or visual cueing. Each month a new workbook will be put on the 'Kindle' bookshelf and can be ordered from Amazon. This workbook was created by the founder of BrainFlex Wellness Club, located in Orlando Florida. The BrainFlex program is based on brain stimulating activities, including life-long learning, brain healthy recipes (w/nutritional information on the ingredients), various types of exercises that are specifically designed for seniors, and last, but definitely not least...social connections. (Which is why we encourage seniors to meet in groups and enjoy doing the activities together.) The interactive workbook incorporates each of these concepts, and dives even deeper into other areas vital to 'aging well', such as sleep, positive thinking, and the important role that forgiveness plays in brain health. Although not necessary in order to benefit from the workbook, on August 1, 2020, members of BrainFlex have access to online classes, webinars, workshops, and more, via the membership portal. (Including additional activities with a 'career focus', for seniors who were previously accountants, engineers, mechanics, etc., as well as material specifically designed for those facing challenges that occur in the later stages of dementia.) Again, a membership to the BrainFlex portal isn't required...it's just something to keep in mind if you decide you would like access to more than just the workbook.
