Rex has chosen to attend the all-boys boarding school, although sometimes he wonders why. Among the silly pranks and sometimes dangerous antics that are part and parcel of school life, Rex finds himself hopelessly attracted to one of the school maids - sixteen-year-old Lila. Lila, conscious of her position, is initially unwilling to respond to his charm offensive, but over time he wins her affection. As they become closer, and both emotionally and physically entangled, Rex and Lila are playing a dangerous game. Rex risks expulsion and Lila risks her job every time they find a secret place to meet. But as their love grows, even the headmaster is forced to recognise the strength of their close attachment. But this is young love, and young love does not always last forever.
