Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Personal Recollections of William Kite

On the morning of the day of our last meeting at this place, 1 was startled to hear of the death of William Kite. 1 had known him so long, and he was so much a part of this community, that 1 never thought of a time, when we should be called upon, to go on without him. Like days which come with brightness, we saw him here, and like new days which follow in their course, so i looked for him to reappear. His familiar presence and kindly face, we shall see no more, but his youthful interest, his inspiring enthusiasm, his simple goodness, must live with us until the end.
