After Ginny's divorce, she buys a house in a village in the Home Counties. There she hopes to work on her book on the psychology of fairy tales - the last thing she is looking for is romance. However, when she meets her neighbour Sean, a solitary man, her defences are broken down: Sean cooks her delicious meals, and rescues her from a drunken attack by her ex-husband. However, Ginny is intrigued by the locked room in his house, and unable to resist a look inside - what she finds appears more like a horror story than a fairy tale...
