Der 20. August 1991 wird fur die 17-jahrige Daniela zum wichtigsten Tag in ihrem Leben. Allerdings wei sie davon noch nichts, als sie nach einem vorzeitigen Schulschluss den uberfullten Bus betritt. Daniela hat seit ihrer fruhen Kindheit erleben mussen, wie ihre Mutter wegen einer ratselhaften Krankheit uber zehn Jahre hinweg korperlich und geistig verfiel. Aus diesem Grund lauft und schwimmt die sportliche junge Frau in jeder freien Minute und seit ihre Mutter drei Jahre zuvor mit 42 Jahren starb, ist fur sie ihr Sport erst recht zum Mittelpunkt ihres Lebens geworden. Der vorzeitige Schulschluss und das schone Wetter sollen dann auch an jenem 20. August genutzt werden, um in einem nahegelegenen Waldweiher zu schwimmen und vielleicht auch noch in einem Buch zu stobern, dessen Inhalt ihr Ratsel aufgibt. Ein Buch, von ihr wahrend der Sommerferien bei ihrer Oma gefunden, stellt ihr Schulfranzosisch stark auf die Probe. Weit davon entfernt, den Inhalt zu verstehen, halt sie das Buch wegen seines Titels 'La Philosophie dans le boudoir' des Marquis de Sade irrtumlich fur ein gesellschaftskritisches Werk von Jean Paul Satre. An jenem 20. August ergibt es sich, dass sie die Bekanntschaft von vier gleichaltrigen jungen Leuten macht, die sie uber ihren Irrtum aufklaren und sie mit den eher pornographischen Inhalt nicht nur verbal sondern auch mit praktischen Ubungen nahe vertraut machen. Unter der fachkundigen Anleitung erschliet sich ihr eine unbekannte neue Welt. Die Welt der Lust und die Welt der Begierde. Aber die uberschwangliche Lust wahrt nicht lange. Aus Neid und Eifersucht wird sie Menschenhandlern ubergeben und als denen der Schatz ihrer Unschuld auffallt, wird sie zu einer Ware, deren Wert allerdings nur gering geschatzt wird. Daniela wird aus ihrem Leben gerissen und in die Sklaverei verkauft. Fur die junge deutsche Frau aus dem Jahr 1991 beginnt ein Alptraum, bei dem der Verlust der korperlichen Unschuld ihr geringstes Problem ist. Sie wird mit dem Tod in seinen unterschiedlichsten Auspragungen konfrontiert und sie wird gequalt, gefoltert und in einer Form gedemutigt, wie das selbst ein Marquis de Sade in jenem besagten Buch nicht beschrieb. Aber sie verzagt nicht und gibt nie die Hoffnung auf.
