Mike Harmon graduated from ROTC at the University of Wyoming in 1940 and signed up to serve in the US Army. Restless after more than a year of training on bases in Georgia, Alabama, and New Mexico, he felt ready for some adventure. Despite infantry training, he was assigned to B-17s in the 19th Bomb Group in the Philippines in October 1941. Life was calm until the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in December. With war declared, his life became a series of dangerous missions dodging the Japanese throughout Indonesia. Will he make it to safe haven in Australia, despite tripping over diamond smugglers and a certain curvaceous Dutch Army nurse?
