Publisher's Synopsis
This is the second volume in a series which follows a previous series of three books published by Wiley, entitled "The International Yearbook of Organizational Democracy". It retains from that series the same editorial board and the same broad objectives, namely to provide policymakers, practitioners and academics with works of reference on significant developments in participative practice in organizations.;This volume examines the different forms of employee participation in decision-making and ownership, which is especially relevant given current developments in Central and Eastern Europe. Three areas are examined in particular: the issue of ownership and its implications for participation; the specific forms which employee participation can take and how it can be effectively promoted within firms; and the influence of external factors such as the role of the state, unions and other institutions.
