Computers have become an integral part of today's education programmes. Media literacy is now part of the core Language Arts curriculum in most provinces. It is therefore critical that teachers be prepared to teach with technology. This text emphasizes "integration" of educational technology vs. a preoccupation with the technology itself, which is very important for Canadian educators. The text aims to provide teachers with basic computer skills and knowledge; an overview of available software; classroom applications of the technology; and the theoretical framework for teaching with technology.
