This qualitative research work had a design based on grounded theory, non-experimental, cross-sectional, which addressed the experiences of 10 Argentine teenagers aged 16 to 18 years. In order to understand and conceptualize how the construction of identity develops in adolescents who make use of the social network Instagram. And in this sense, in order to reach an understanding of the creation of meaning units, an in-depth exploration and description of life experiences was required. The results were surveyed, based on observation, semi-directed interviews and logbook. The study was framed within the social perspective, and its main scope was descriptive and interpretative. Using the categorical system, the following results were obtained: on the one hand, first order categories: need for acceptance-recognition, fear of judgment-abandonment or emptiness, identification of the self and specific knowledge of the network.
