Saint Cardinal John Henry Newman (1801-1890). These Lenten meditations were originally published as sermons by John Henry Newman between 1825 and 1843, prior to his conversion to Roman Catholicism in 1845. Addressed to a Protestant audience, this great saint speaks to the heart and mind of every one who has eyes and ears to receive his words, Catholic and Protestant alike.
