Zitiert nach Charles Darwin 1871 in "Die Abstammung des Menschen" Es gab wohl kaum einen Zeitabschnitt in dem sich Gesellschaften nicht irgendwelchen (wirtschaftspolitischen) Problemen gegenübersahen, welche anhand der ökonomischen Analyse hätten behandelt werden können. Was führt zu wirtschaftspolitischen Problemen und wie lassen sich diese zum Wohle der Menschen lösen? Das Konzept der empathischen Zivilisation verfolgt den Ansatz das Wesen menschlichen Verhaltens und die Entwicklung der Zivilisation ganzheitlich zu bestimmen und vor diesem Hintergrund Schlüsse auf Ursachen und Prognosen wirtschaftspolitischer Herausforderungen zu ziehen. Dabei spielen das Menschenbild des Homo Empathicus - der Mensch als rational und emotional, egoistisch und sozial motiviertes Wesen - und drei maßgebliche Triebkräfte der Zivilisationsentwicklung eine entscheidende Rolle. Wobei der sich entwickelnden Empathiefähigkeit als eine der drei Triebkräfte eine besondere Rolle zugesprochen wird, da sie maßgeblich zur Ermöglichung immer komplexerer, effizienterer Gesellschaftsstrukturen und größerer Sozialverbände beiträgt. Ziel dieser Seminararbeit ist es nun, das Konzept anhand grundlegender Erkenntnisse aus der Wissenschaft unterschiedlicher Fachbereiche zu erläutern und in die Ökonomik zu integrieren.
