The most profound change happens in your experience of God when you discover that wants to speak to you. In fact, God speaks more often than we realize and in surprising ways. Sometimes God speaks to people who don't claim to believe in him. The Bible is filled with accounts of God revealing himself to people. He hasn't lost his voice! The Christian apologist Francis Schaeffer coined the phrase, "He is there, and he is not silent." That phrase describes my delightful discovery about God. The experience of Christians throughout history confirms that God is a speaking God. He communicates to his creation in a way that is spiritual, therefore, mysterious, but once understood, perfectly rational.
