Publisher's Synopsis

In July 1927 a Mr and Mrs Parkyn and Mr & Mrs George set out from Par in Cornwall to drive to Edinburgh in a Fiat 8 - a mammoth undertaking for those times. The itinerary was meticulously planned and the only addition was when they discovered they were in Richmond, Yorkshire in time to watch the 1927 eclipse. This book is the story of their journey written by Grandfather Parkyn. This is a man who left school at 11 years with little education but who seeks, with his descriptive powers, to make the reader feel they were doing the journey with them. After the final entry there is another small document written by Mr George called Driver's Notes - something that should be of interest to motoring buffs.
