Excerpt from Fundamentals of Child Study: A Discussion of Instincts and Other Factors in Human Development With Practical Applications
The very kind reception given the first edition of this book by instructors in normal schools and universities, and by parents and teachers in this and other countries, has been very gratify ing to the author, who had scarcely dared hope that he could make the book so acceptable to so many different classes of persons.
This new edition has given the opportunity to correct a number of errors in the references at the close of each chapter, to add the names of a few new books to the list at the beginning, and also to improve a few sentences and paragraphs.
It has not been thought best to make any radical revision at the present time. This will probably be done a few years later. In the meantime, the author will be glad to receive suggestions from those who have used the book regarding corrections, omis sions, or additions that it is thought would increase its usefulness.
