Andy McDaniel hates his life. His dreams have evaporated. He's getting divorced, he's stuck in a nothing job, and he's sitting on a second-hand sofa in an apartment he never wanted. Watching the rain soak his balcony on a lonely Saturday morning, he checks his phone to see that his hero, budding Nashville superstar Ben Landry, is getting bashed all over social media.
Ben is accused of a variety of horrible things by a guy who turns out to be a member of Ben's own band. Andy watches as Ben tries to defend himself, but the Internet savagery is out of control.Amid the sea of posts calling for Ben's head, Andy tweets a show of support to his hero, referencing an obscure song from deep in Ben's catalog. Ben, touched by the support of a thoughtful fan, and unable to stand by as his career implodes, jumps in his car and drives into Andy's life. Meanwhile, Andy's wife Shelly is slowly losing the man she thought she married. Ben's girlfriend Rachel, is realizing being in love with a musician isn't what she thought it would be. The bonds that are formed, and severed, will provide simple answers to some very complex questions about love, life, pain, and the relationships that make it all matter.
