This volume presents the photographs of Francois-Marie Banier, whose portraits are records of creative encounters. Since the 1960s, the French photographer's camera has captured artists and writers, heads of state, actors and passers-by withount a hint of shyness or posing. Salvador Dali praised his early drawings, and went on to become his friend and patron. During three decades of dialogue with the public and famous personalities like Jim Jarmusch, Kate Moss and Samuel Beckett, Banier has created his collection of portraits.
