Forced into marriage by his father, Thomas marries Olivia with hardly a glance her way. Thomas then abandons Olivia on their wedding night and sails to America only to be shipwrecked and feared lost. Thomas fortunately survives but has amnesia. Once he regains his memory Thomas returns home and falls in love with the woman of his dreams, only to find out she's actually his wife.
