Publisher's Synopsis
A collection of papers from the Oxford Symposium on Food 2019, on the topic of food and power. The papers range from highlighting the dominance of just ten international conglomerates, to the prevalence of diabetes, obesity and heart disease due to excessive sugar and fats in foods, and the need to diversify our seed and fertilizer usage. However, the papers also outline sustainable energy use and feminist narratives from the 1970s, giving us hope for the future.
