Publisher's Synopsis
The First Stage Reader Teacher's Edition is used in conjunction with First Stage Reader. The reading program is based on the method that the Romans used to teach the Western world how to read, a method which teaches consistent patterns of vowels and consonants in words. The program is phonetic-based and stresses comprehension as well as pronunciation, writing and spelling as integral parts of the reading process. Original stories are integrated into sequential lessons that build on preceding lessons. The lessons do not represent a specific grade level and once the students have completed the program they will be able to choose reading materials of their own interests and at their individual levels of maturity. By the end of the program, after approximately 50 instructional hours, students can read independently, with full comprehension!
