By reference to the accompanying report of the Superintend ent, it will be seen that although the number of patients treated has increased 33 per cent for the year, the proportion of deaths is lower than ever before in the history of the Hospital, being per cent. This fact, considering the number of severe cases treated, is very gratifying, and is a strong proof of the Skill and fidelity of the Board of Physicians and Surgeons. An account of the expenditures is' given in detail, the result show ing the average cost of each patient to be less than during the previous year.
