Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Kunst - Allgemeines, Kunsttheorie, Note: 1,0, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (Kunstgeschichtliches Institut), Veranstaltung: Proseminare: "... autonom und fait social zugleich"? Die Frage nach der Geschichtlichkeit der Kunst als Konflikt und Fluchtpunkte, Augenpunkte, Standpunkte: Zur Geschichte der Perspektive und den Perspektiven ihrer Rekonstruktion, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die kunstgeschichtlichen Analyse stellt sich bei der Betrachtung eines Kunstwerkes immer die Frage nach dem, was es repräsentiert. Es liegt in der Natur der Disziplin der Frage nach der Repräsentation durch kontextuale Fragen auf den Grund zu gehen. Allerdings kann auf diese Art bei vielen Kunstwerken die Frage ihrer Repräsentation nicht beantwortet werden, entweder weil nichts über das Werk bekannt ist, oder weil dessen repräsentierende Bedeutung nicht aus der Darstellung ersichtlich wird. Es stellt sich also die Frage, ob die kontextuale Analyse immer eine Kontrollinstanz für die Bedeutung eines Kunstwerkes sein kann und unter welchen Umständen. In diesem Zusammenhang stellt sich auch die Frage nachdem, was der Ausdruck "Repräsentation" bedeutet, und ob diese Bedeutung für alle Kunstwerke gleichermaßen gilt. Folglich stellt sich auch die Frage, welche Rolle der Referent spielt. Muss es sich dabei um ein reales, greifbares Objekt handeln? Ist der Mangel eines Referenten ein Hindernis für die Aufgabe der Repräsentation oder macht er diese überhaupt möglich? Wenn ja, was repräsentieren Kunstwerke dann, wenn es nicht ein Referent ist? Und schließlich die Frage, ob Kunstwerke Teil eines Systems der Repräsentation sein können, oder ob sie isoliert betrachtet werden müssen und ihre Bedeutung ausgeschlossen von allen anderen Kunstwerken analysiert werden muss.
