A theologian and preacher of many years experience, the author wrote this book following decades of observation. The fast-paced change of society in the 19th century, as the world industrialized and altered rapidly, alarmed Andrews - as a man of God, he felt impelled to search for answers to this new world. In contrast to such change, the author recognized that the Words of God are unchanging and steady; concluding that only by knowing Him can people aid the forces of good as the inevitable, final conflict looms.
