Publisher's Synopsis

CAELES (One With God) revolves around ten diverse individuals, startled by magic, and transport though time to meet Jesus at age eighteen. They try briefly to just observe and quickly learn that they are to help Jesus make a better world. In my novel, most of the New Testament has not yet happened, and what has happened contains errors. This is NOT a novel for devote Christians and deals often with Jewish teachings and hopefully cause some controversy. They have a brief encounter with God, who gives them among other things, purpose and gifts of language. The group teams up with Caesarian, who was the real son of Julius Caesar and Cleopatra, along with his invented son. They also plot with Marcus Julius Caesar Agrippa Postumus, who was the real grandson and adopted son of Emperor Augustus and for a while heir apparent. Their hope is to turn the Roman Empire back into a Republic, with Judea and Egypt being independent allies. The travelers and Jesus plan to modernize the Jewish religion and extend it to the Roman Empire. This new religion would be based on the teachings of Jesus with the help of his friends, and not those of Paul. God, magic and modern tools are used sparingly, while the travelers knowledge is used frequently.
