Publisher's Synopsis
This handbook aims to show how the English language works. Taking the reader through the elements of grammar, the book is divided into sections: parts of speech, from nouns to interjections; sentence structure, from statements to paragraph; word formation, from basic forms to compounding punctuation; and figures of speech and literary devices, from alliteration to zeugma. An A-Z section deals with common errors and points of confusion and how to avoid them.
