This book is designed for four to six year olds who are learning the alphabet and to associate letters and their sounds while developing fine motor control. Letter sounds are taught through a variety of pictures and vocabulary. Writing coordination is developed by drawing patterns which are specific to the pencil movements used in letter formations. Teacher-directed drawing exercises are used to teach eye-hand coordination, necessary for consistent and clear writing. In this book, each alphabet letter is introduced in order of directional writing similarity. This is to reinforce correct letter formation and good writing habits.
