Publisher's Synopsis
The seasons in the Piedmont of North Carolina have rhythms that are unique to that place alone. The growing season, where early springs meld into long summers, is greatly extended compared to the North, where I come from; you have a longer time to interact with the birds, butterflies, insects and green plants, becoming more intimately acquainted. Since autumn arrives late -again as compared to the North- and winter makes an abbreviated appearance they are seasons to be treasured. I lived in a rural area outside of Mocksville, NC; the inspirations and settings for all of these poems came from my travels along Bear Creek Church Road and Log Cabin Road as well as within my own garden. These poems prove that there are always songs to be chronicled, no matter where you live, if only you open your eyes and ears to the world surrounding you. These are my poems of love to the nature that surrounded me there.
