It is known that the therapeutic process over many years has been based, for the most part, on symptoms and protocols, leaving aside the humanisation of care. As a consequence, the stigma of a "degenerative and incurable" disease led to leprosy sufferers being exiled from social life. The reflection developed shows that, despite the different theoretical frameworks, art therapy is permeated by an aesthetic conception of the human being, seen as a creative being, capable of becoming an artist of life itself.
