Nell knows that she shares a very special past with her cousins, Edmund and Perry. In their young days in Gloucestershire they used to play, quarrel, and perhaps fall in love a little. But when a strange young man arrives in their midst, Nell discovers with a shock that he, too, shares some of their mysterious past - that old railway coach in the forest where Nell's parents first fell in love.
