Publisher's Synopsis

Explanatory Notes Ajahn Sulak Sivaraksa wrote his autobiography entitled Loyalty Demands Dissent and S J translated the gist of his Thai recollection of the Senior Statesman into Powers That Be: Pridi Banomyong Through the Rise and Fall of Thai Democracy which has appeared in many languages eg German, French, Chinese, Hindi, Tamil, Sinhalese, Tibetan, Bahasa Indonesia and Vietnamese. Besides, Dr Donald K Swearer also wrote "Sulak Sivaraksa's Vision for Renewing Society" which was published in Engaged Buddhism: Buddhist Liberation Movements in Asia edited by Christopher S Queen and Sallie B King. Meanwhile, Danny Campbell has just written A Siamese Story: A Biographical Essay on Sulak Sivaraksa as he had earlier written How the City Farang Came to Love the Forest and Other Stories (2002), A Tale About People and a Pipeline (2003), The Last of the Siamese Tigers (2008), and A Tale of Aceh (2012). This last book by him is kindly translated into Thai by Nattanop Palahan. I should like to thank both the author and translator and in the name of Ajahn Sulak's disciples we would like to publish both English and Thai versions on Ajahn's 82nd birthday - 27th March 2015.
