Publisher's Synopsis
Euphemia Martins receives an invitation to the 1913 World Fair in Ghent, Belgium, which unbeknown to anyone will be the last great gathering of the greatest minds of the time before the world plunges into World War One. With Richenda expecting and unfit to travel, a chaperone, Mrs Brown, is engaged to accompany Euphemia. Unable to believe this, and not wanting to be accused of transporting her into the country, Bertram, Euphemia and Rory attempt to uncover the truth, in hopes of preventing a potential diplomatic nightmare...
