Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from A Contribution to the Life-History of Lilium Tenuifolium
Among the cytological problems so far investigated none has awakened the interest of the investigator to such a degree as those dealing with the karyokinesis of maturation. If the true interpretation of hereditary phenomena is concerned, as it appears to be, with the reduction division, such interest in this field of investigation is sufficiently justified. To throw some further light upon the subject by bringing out the facts observed in a new and exceptionally favorable object is the main reason for the present investigation.
