Scarlett is full of life, talent and imagination, all of which are encouraged by her grandfather, a man with an imagination large enough to match hers. With her cousin and best friend, Sutton, she stumbles upon the portal to a mysterious, magical world her Papa has discovered. The girls are swept into his imaginary world of dreams. Or is it a world of nightmares? They first encounter creatures of legend. Dragons! Though, decidedly different from your everyday, run-of-the-mill dragons. These new, unlikely friends become strong allies the girls will soon need. Why? King Wydout! An evil being unlike anything they could ever conceive of in the real world. His horde of Clippets, Erazoors and Borrars have one mission, to completely erase any creature they come across. Scarlett learns her Uncle Morgan has been taken captive by Wydout and his horde. If they put their fiendish plan into action, her uncle will simply cease to exist. Scarlett must find a way to rescue her uncle, her cousin ... and herself!
