Publisher's Synopsis
How can a small American manufacturer of athletic uniforms find a place in the world of Nike and other big industry giants? These days, the answer is that it generally can't. After seven decades of making quality garments, Southland Athletic Manufacturing Company could no longer survive in an industry driven by big volume buying and cheap overseas labor. Due to an unexpected chain of unfortunate events, a washed-up sportswriter and a single mom were charged with ushering the company to the finish line. A match made in heaven? Not quite, but it would have to do.
