The Huntington Family descends from the Houses of de Holland and de Frisia, with the "King and Duke of Frisia, in the 8th. century (700AD.) Sir Poppo (Hrodbad) de Frisia. The name of Huntington over the centuries went from de Frisia, to de Holland, to de Holand, to todays Huntington. "King Poppo" became the (Progenitor) of a long line of Dukes, Counts, Barons, Lords, and Knights who ruled the Neatherlands for several hundred years, before coming to England. In England they became prominent families of Counts, and Knights who held large Castles, Estates, and Mansions throughout England. Their descendant Soldier, Colonel Norfolk Militia, and Farmer "Simon Huntington" with his family in tow came to Colonial America in 1633.
