When a Sunday bike ride in Colorado's Red Rocks Park leads to a crime scene, Reese Adams, PI, and her boyfriend, Ethan Chamberlain, find themselves in the center of it. Caroline Bristol, the victim, is the wife of renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Mark Bristol and a friend of Ethan's. Stunned by the discovery, Ethan is less than delighted when Reese accepts the offer to assist the police in the murder investigation.
Dr. Bristol, already shattered by the death of his wife, is even more shaken when he receives an anonymous email inferring his wife had strayed from their marriage. When a patient under the eminent doctor's care becomes mysteriously comatose, authorities begin to suspect he may be the person being targeted and the heinous act of his wife's murder was just the means to an evil end.
