An existential war between biologicals and mechs.
In the near future, scientists discover a flickering artificial sun headed towards Earth. Code named "Deimos", this alien threat becomes the impetus for a massive outworld colonization program, the creation of an army of mechs to defend the planet, and a bioengineering initiative to adapt the human race to survive the apocalypse. All of these projects are kept secret from the civilian population, including the orphan Junior Rangers they depend upon.

THE BIO-MECH WAR: BIG TEETH
A survival-mech replaces the gentler Li'l Mike on a mission to a primordial world with mega-carnivores. As Junior Rangers help colonists set up farms, they suspect that parasitic otters drive the mega-carnivores against them. If Junior Rangers can establish an alliance with an otter clan they may just prove human-clan's value. If only they didn't have to drive a mega-carnivore blimp into battle to prove it.
