Charming and adventurous Ethan Hunter might seem like he has it all. He's opening Off-the-Grid Adventures, an extreme outdoor sporting facility, with longtime friends, and there's no shortage of women in town wanting to date him. But behind his easygoing facade, Ethan hides a painful past. Fearful of repeating mistakes of the past, Ethan keeps all of his relationships casual. But when his dying grandmother misreads a situation between Ethan and Gabby Winters, she tells Ethan she can die in peace because he's finally found someone else to love him.
Gabby is new in town and doesn't plan to stay long. Although there's no denying her attraction to Ethan, she refuses to pose as his girlfriend. She's not ready for a new relationship, not even a fake one. But the longer they pretend, the more real the attraction between them grows.
