To march in column by the cadenced step for a continuance the leading guide directing himself by points taken on the ground--to change direction on the side of the guide and on the opposite side, to break and form platoons on the march. 3. Toextcute the counter march and repeat the same movements. 4. To change direction by the prompt manoeuvre. 5. To take the route step, break the platoons and execute successively the different movements prescribed in the article of the column in route, to reduce the sub-division to one fourth of the front, to bring the files into line upon the same principles, and form platoon. 6. To halt the column and form line of battle, to the right or left. 7. Form the column soipctimes by inversion, to the left or right, in line. THIRD LESSON. 1. To break by platoon, in the rear, to the right or left. 2. To form column, in front, and facing to the rear in line. 3. To form column upon the right, or upon the left in line. 4. To march by flank, an J form platoon or sections in marching. 5. The column arriving in rear or in frontof the line of battle, to prolong it upon that Jine, and to form to the right or left in battle. 6 To change face, to to the front and to the rear, upon the extremity, on the right or left, perpendicularly and obliquely.
