Publisher's Synopsis
Lead and zinc are both covered in one volume because of the frequency with which they are mined together. However, this study brings out the extent to which new mine projects concentrate on zinc rather than lead bacause the demand for zinc is likely to rise much faster. On the one hand, zinc used in galvanizing is set to grow because of demand from the motor industry. On the other, primary lead smelting will come under severe constraints from environmental agencies; the emphasis on the production side will be on further recovery of battery scrap.
