His Lordship was constituted Lord J ustice-general by Parliament, 1646 entered heartily into the engagement' for the rescue Of the King, for which he was deprived Of his Office, in virtue Of the Act Of Classes and, 2d March, 1649, Parliament passed a decreet against the Earl Of Glencairn, annulling his patent of earldom, 1488.
